Oggi, in occasione della Giornata Internazionale per i diritti dell’Infanzia e dell’Adolescenza, i Volontari di ABIO Sciacca, che già dal 2008 operano presso il Reparto di Pediatria dell’Ospedale Giovanni Paolo II , sosterranno il diritto al gioco dei Bambini in Ospedale con l’iniziativa NO STOP di gioco dedicata ai bambini ricoverati in reparto di pediatria.
Il diritto al gioco come sancito dall’art. 31 della Convenzione Internazionale sui Diritti dell’Infanzia e dell’Adolescenza del 1989 è stato ripreso e sostenuto dall’art. 7 dalla Carta dei Diritti dei Bambini e degli Adolescenti in Ospedale, redatta da Fondazione ABIO Italia in collaborazione con la Società Italiana di Pediatria.
L’intento della Carta è di sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica e le istituzioni su questo tema, per garantire ai bambini e agli adolescenti la qualità delle cure e per tutelare il loro equilibrio in un momento delicato come la permanenza in ospedale attraverso i diritti più elementari quali, ad esempio, il diritto di essere ricoverati all’interno di un reparto pediatrico e in un ambiente a misura di bambino, il diritto al gioco e allo studio.
Pertanto, in questa ricorrenza così speciale per l’Infanzia, i Volontari ABIO doneranno una intera giornata di gioco alternandosi ininterrottamente dalle ore 9 alle ore 19,30 presso la Ludoteca ABIO con Attività e Laboratori di gioco riservati ai bambini degenti in ospedale.
L’iniziativa è stata sostenuta dal CeSVoP, Centro per i Servizi di Volontariato della Sicilia Occidentale, che ha fornito tutti i materiali di gioco necessari alla realizzazione dell‘ iniziativa.
