A manifestazione conclusa, Cittadinanzattiva di Sciacca, attraverso le sue reti del Tribunale per i Diritti del Malato e dei Procuratori dei Cittadini, ha inviato al Presidente della Regione Renato Schifani, all’assessore regionale alla Salute Giovanna Volo e al presidente della commissione sanità dell’ARS Carmelo Pace quel documento che nei giorni scorsi la stessa Cittadinanzattiva aveva sottoposto all’attenzione del sindaco di Sciacca per valutare l’opportunità di una eventuale adesione da parte dei sindaci che avevano indetto la manifestazione svoltasi stamattina.
Non avendo ricevuto alcun riscontro, la coordinatrice dell’assemblea cittadina Pierina Di Martino e i coordinatori delle reti Tribunale per i diritti del Malato e Procuratori dei Cittadini hanno ritenuto opportuno sottoscrivere e inviare il documento in questione come Cittadinanzattiva.
In esso si richiede ai vertici regionali della sanità e salute che venga reso effettivo il DEA di primo livello per il presidio ospedaliero di Sciacca, con la funzionalità di tutte le unità operative semplici e complesse, nonché di tutti i servizi che competono ad un DEA di primo livello.
Viene richiesto inoltre che, nella futura nuova organizzazione della sanità regionale siciliana venga istituita un’autonoma Azienda Sanitaria Territoriale composta dai presidi ospedalieri di Sciacca e Ribera ovvero, in alternativa, dai presidi ospedalieri di Sciacca, Ribera e Castelvetrano.
Ciò in funzione delle caratteristiche del territorio e delle pressanti esigenze che emergono dallo stesso, per la numerosità della popolazione e per la estrema precarietà dei collegamenti stradali, che penalizza fortemente i comuni dell’area interna del distretto, per i quali Sciacca e Ribera costituiscono punti di riferimento indispensabili per ogni situazione di emergenza.
Cittadinanzattiva evidenzia inoltre che l’ospedale di Sciacca, oltre ad essere già riconosciuto come DEA di primo livello, ha al suo interno una Banca di Sangue Cordonale tra le più importanti in Europa ed è dotato di strutture immobiliari adeguate ad ospitare un’AST.
La missiva ai responsabili regionali della Sanità e Salute si conclude con l’auspicio che al più presto l’Ospedale di Sciacca (in questo momento riunito con quello di Ribera) venga dotato di personale e mezzi adeguati ad assicurarne la piena efficienza e funzionalità, invertendo il trend di quella decadenza nella qualità dei servizi erogati che è iniziata dal momento in cui ha cessato di essere Azienda Ospedaliera per passare sotto la gestione dell’ASP di Agrigento.
