Ho fatto un salto nel piccolo comune di Siculiana per visitare la mostra dell’amico Rosario Bruno.
Per anni residente ed insegnante a Sciacca, l’artista ha saputo sempre tracciare un percorso che lungo tutta la sua carriera ha fatto crescere il mondo dell’arte nel nostro territorio.
Questa personale dell’amico Rosario è un evento a cura di Marcella Scarpello, promosso e patrocinato dal Comune e dalla Pro Loco di Siculiana, presso la Torre dell’Orologio.
Rosario Bruno (Siculiana 1945) è un innovatore per il suo tempo, è stato un protagonista della stagione artistica rivoluzionaria degli anni Settanta e Ottanta. Ha partecipato ad innumerevoli mostre in Italia e all’estero, ottenendo svariate recensioni dai più grandi critici d’arte.
L’arte di Rosario Bruno è a tempore e riesce a raccontare “contemporaneamente” epoche trascorse e presenti. Attraverso le opere della sua ampia collezione l’artista interpreta le carte da gioco, ritratti di iconografie e scene che si ispirano all’arte rinascimentale, al Novecento artistico, sino al post contemporaneo.
In questa mostra sono esposte una trentina di opere tra bassorilievi, altorilievi e tutto tondi, con l’intento di esplorare cinquant’anni della sua attività artistica.
Un’attività lenta e minuziosa, una ricerca meditativa che lo ha portato ad estraniarsi dalla realtà per portalo in un non tempo.
I lavori sono realizzati utilizzando l’antica tecnica del Cartone Romano: con questa tecnica l’opera si crea sovrapponendo stratificazioni di carta posta all’interno di stampi in gesso precedentemente formati dallo stesso artista.
Il risultato sono delle opere tridimensionali, attualissime, leggere e delicate, resistenti e durevoli, piene di quella carica espressiva che solo le opere di un grande maestro sanno donare.
I suoi risultati creativi sono carichi di una leggerezza ideologica, ci portano a staccarci dall’impegnativa realtà contemporanea e ci fanno vagare con la fantasia . Curatrice della mostra Marcella Scarpello che abbiamo intervistato:
