Il Comitato Civico Patrimonio Termale di Sciacca ha voluto essere simbolicamente presente, e si spera non solo simbolicamente, alla prima giornata dell’iniziativa “SUD – Progetti per ripartire”, promossa dal Ministro per il Sud, Mara Carfagna, nella quale ieri si è registrato l’intervento del Presidente del Consiglio, Mario Draghi, ampiamente riportato dai mezzi di comunicazione nazionali. Lo ha fatto inviando una proposta di nuova idea progettuale per far ripartire il termalismo siciliano.
E’ ben noto come le risorse europee di Next Generation EU e il Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza (PNRR), al quale il governo sta lavorando proprio per utilizzare al meglio i fondi europei, rappresentino un’occasione che il Sud non può permettersi di sprecare. Per far sì che i progetti, che saranno contenuti nel PNRR, consentano alle Regioni meridionali di abbattere nei prossimi anni le barriere che le allontanano dal Nord Italia e dal resto d’Europa, di liberare le proprie potenzialità e di fare da traino al rilancio del Paese, il Ministro Carfagna ha voluto mobilitare le risorse migliori e con esse ha organizzato questo incontro digitale di due giorni per ascoltare i suggerimenti e i progetti di esperti, rettori, rappresentanti di istituzioni, imprese, parti sociali, associazioni…
Ma il Ministro, ritenendo che spesso le buone idee nascono anche da donne e uomini che osservano tutti i giorni la realtà che li circonda e vogliono fare qualcosa per cambiarla in meglio, ha voluto anche dare a tutti l’opportunità di avanzare proposte: progetti concreti, ciascuno dei quali si riferisca a uno dei “capitoli” del Recovery Plan e sia realizzabile in tempi certi con le risorse a disposizione.
Il Comitato Civico Patrimonio Termale di Sciacca ha quindi ritenuto di prendere la palla al balzo e, utilizzando l’apposita piattaforma resa disponibile sul web, ha inviato nella giornata di ieri la propria idea progettuale in 1000 parole così formulata:
“Rilancio dell’intera filiera del termalismo siciliano, chiusa da oltre 6 anni, come termalismo della salute e del benessere, fattore destagionalizzante e valore aggiunto del turismo, principale risorsa economica della Sicilia. Investimento di circa 50 mln di euro, pari ad un 0,25% dei fondi new generation destinati all’isola. Sciacca è uno dei più antichi, grandi e terapeuticamente efficaci patrimoni termali d’Europa, le grotte vaporose sono uniche al mondo, fanghi e acque eccellenti. L’ingente patrimonio immobiliare dei complessi termali di Sciacca e Acireale necessita di investimenti produttivi per il recupero delle strutture immobiliari ormai degradate, di attrezzature/impiantistica e per il completamento o recupero di opere pubbliche mai completate(Grande Albergo San Calogero a Sciacca, la più vecchia incompiuta italiana) o vandalizzate (antico stabilimento termale di Sciacca). Migliaia di giovani e donne potrebbero trovare occupazione e contribuire allo sviluppo economico e produttivo.”
Insomma, quello che non risulta abbiano fatto finora i vertici politici e amministrativi regionali, così come l’amministrazione comunale, lo hanno fatto quelli del Comitato Civico Patrimonio Termale, per conto delle forze civiche, associative, sindacali e del volontariato che del Comitato stesso fanno parte.
In questa fase, che è strategica per le scelte politiche che orienteranno la destinazioni delle risorse promesse dall’Europa e dal Governo italiano per lo sviluppo economico del Meridione d’Italia, il Comitato Civico richiede anche fortemente a tutti i Sindaci e a tutte le forze politiche del territorio di utilizzare ogni possibile strumento a loro disposizione per ottenere il risultato di investimenti produttivi a favore di un moderno ed innovativo termalismo siciliano, ritenendolo una risorsa fondamentale e un valore aggiunto prezioso per lo viluppo del più importante volano economico dell’isola, il turismo.
